As a Registered Dietitian, I’m curious if using social media as a daily pictorial log will have the same effect as journaling what you eat. Will your usual eating habits change if you know that you are going to post pics of every single thing you eat everyday? And if your eating habits do change will that result in weight loss in a 30 day period?
If you’re ready to take your weight loss to the next level, why not leverage your social media activity to take you there?
Here are the deets!
You can follow my progress on my new Twitter, Facebook and Instagram (eatingsocialdiet) accounts.
The inaugural run is October 1st so I hope you’ll join me in this Great Social Media Diet Experiment!

I just read a survey from Lifetime Fitness that has strong numbers showing a correlation between fitness technology (i.e., social media) and reaching healthy lifestyle goals. 72% of people under 30 (62% over) said technology helps them reach their goals. Interesting, eh?

That’s very interesting. Even though I’m over 30, I think this experiment will help me stay on track.

Can’t wait to hear how this experiment goes! I count calories, but sometimes feel the pressure of counting them…maybe this way relieves that pressure! Let me know how it goes!

I totally think this would help. I know I feel more motivated when I know others are checking up on me or seeing what I post. Would I have just eaten that brownie if everyone knew about it?
