Today’s Prompt: Choose a book and open it to a random page and point to a phrase. Use that phrase to get you writing today. Free write for 15-20 without stopping.

Well, today’s prompt didn’t strike a chord with me so I’m writing about something else 🙂

Today is Day 56!!! Only four more days and then it’s time to reintroduce solid food into our diets. I’m so ready to chew but it’s almost a scary thought I know the so that’s why I have a transition plan.

That’s why all juice and green smoothie feasters need a transition plan.

I have the urge to binge on everything – hello? I work in a kitchen and a vegetarian kitchen at that. Who wouldn’t want to eat everything in sight after 60 days of saying “no, thank you.” First, I will not actually binge – I’m not trying to make myself sick. Transitioning is a delicate task and it’s not just about the first days after you are on solid food but also what your new lifestyle will look like. What are you going to do to keep the weight off and remain healthy?

My plan is to follow a high raw vegan diet and continue with regular exercise. I’m glad that I started walking and body weight exercises during the feast so that it’s habit now.

Onto the plan.

Because we have been including green smoothies with juicing, the introduction of fiber is not as much of an issue as with juicing alone. So I am going to introduce raw “harder” fruits and vegetables (apples, carrots, for example) almost immediately.

Here’s the rundown of my simple meal plan. The details may change but having a framework makes me happy.

Day 61

Fruit salad with soft fruits like oranges, grapefruit, pineapple, berries

Heirloom tomato salad with cilantro, garlic and lime juice

Polenta with mushrooms (cooked vegan meal)

Juice or green smoothie

Day 62

Day 63

Day 64

During this week, I will continue to walk/run as I have been.

That’s it. There’s a lot of repetition but that will make the plan easier to follow. After the seven days I’ll move into everyday eating. I will plan my weekly meals by Thursday so I can grocery shop that night and prep over the weekend for the week to come. For exercise, after the first week, my goal is start Insanity and get that 60 day journey under my belt.

Here we go!
